I love street food. Wherever I go, I'm always looking for chances to eat like a local. In many places, some of the best ethnic food is served from a cart! From fish and chips in Edinburgh to pad thai in Bangkok, I've tried some delicious stuff! But there's a dark side to all this good food - food poisoning. I once had a bad case of it in Nepal.

I was in bed for two days and unable to eat much for weeks after. I was in a rural area, so I had no access to clean water or food. I couldn't help getting sick. Most travelers have a horror story or two about food poisoning. It's a risk we all take when we eat strange foods. But there are ways to enjoy good local food and avoid an upset stomach. A few precautions might save you a lot pain. The following tips will help keep you safe and healthy.
